Town portrait

The oldest document that which refers to Schwedt as a town dates back to the year of 1265.

Looking at Schwedt, you will assume that the town came into being during the last fifty years only.

The City´s arms show a red castle on a silver background.

Schwedt also has close ties with Angermünde, Leverkusen and neighbouring Polish towns.
